Two things that totally transformed our exterior update was adding Cedar Posts and doing a Ship Lap Porch Ceiling to match. All I have ever wanted in a home is for it to feel cozy and welcoming. I want it to feel like a safe place to stop in a relax, Creating the atmosphere of the front porch with the stained pine ship lap ceiling and cedar really gives it the warmth I was looking for.
The exterior of our house is probably one of my favorite parts. You can check out the full transformation of the Front Exterior and the Back Yard Patio.

This is the Front Porch Ceiling Before. I found the shiplap on sale at Lowes over memorial day weekend and we already had the tools.
Note: always stain the Shiplap for your Ceiling on sawhorses before hanging it or you will get a super tired arm staining and drips on the floor below.

Heres what you will need to transform your front porch with a Ship Lap Ceiling

Our Electrician installed outdoor can lights that are dimmable on the ceiling after we hung the shiplap. I ordered the front porch sconce on Amazon for only $50. The lights on the ceiling help create a really great atmosphere at night. I truly believe lighting can make any space of your home a little more magical.
